Edition Hotels has opened the Cape Town Edition, marking the luxury brand’s first property in Africa.
The 142-room hotel has debuted as part of the new Quay 7 luxury development and marina in Cape Town’s historic harbor area. The building, which offers views of Table Mountain, draws architectural inspiration from warehouses that previously occupied the site.
The property’s top-tier accommodations range from a 1,205-square-foot Harbour Suite to a 2,583-square-foot Penthouse.
The hotel’s food and beverage outlets include a signature restaurant called Shale, which focuses on seasonal Cape ingredients and offers a predominantly South African wine list, as well as Eave, a rooftop restaurant and bar that sits beside a heated pool. The property is also home to Punch Room, which specializes in punch cocktails in shared bowls, and a lobby bar.
Other amenities are a spa with five treatment rooms and a couples’ suite and meeting and event space, including a ballroom for up to 200 guests and a private event terrace.
The hotel joins Edition’s existing portfolio of 23 hotels globally.
Edition, which launched in 2007 as part of a collaboration between Marriott International and hospitality veteran Ian Schrager, is part of Marriott’s luxury brand portfolio.
