APTA members selling South Africa now have another domestic air option to consider for client itineraries, as LIFT Airlines has joined ARC and the AirlinePros portfolio of represented carriers.
Based in South Africa, LIFT operates key domestic routes between Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban, known as the country’s “Golden Triangle.” The airline currently offers up to 28 flights per day across these major city pairs, including Johannesburg–Cape Town, Johannesburg–Durban and Cape Town–Durban, with plans to increase frequency and explore additional domestic and regional opportunities.
For travel advisors, LIFT’s entry into ARC provides a useful new option for building South Africa itineraries that connect international arrivals with the country’s most important leisure and business destinations. The airline is positioned around flexibility, comfort and customer-first service, with both Economy and Premium fare options available.
LIFT primarily operates Airbus A320 aircraft, offering a spacious narrow-body cabin experience. Economy passengers receive one 7kg hand baggage allowance, flexible fare options, free seat selection, paid extra-legroom seat selection, complimentary snacks and refreshments, and the ability to make unlimited flight changes with no penalty fees up to 24 hours before departure, subject to terms and conditions.
For clients seeking a more elevated domestic experience, LIFT Premium includes two 7kg hand baggage pieces, two 23kg checked bags, free seat selection including extra legroom and recline, unlimited flight changes with no penalty fees up to one hour before departure, priority support, dedicated check-in and boarding, fast-track security at Johannesburg and Cape Town, full bar service, premium catering and complimentary access to SLOW domestic lounges.
The airline also offers several services that may be especially useful for families and special-interest travelers. LIFT Kids provides discounted base fares for children under 12 and a reduced fee for infants under 2, along with free family pre-seating and the same baggage allowance as adults when booked on Economy Bag or Premium fares. Additional services include assistance for unaccompanied minors, young passengers and travelers requiring wheelchair support.
One of LIFT’s more distinctive offerings is its small-dogs-in-cabin product on selected flights, allowing eligible pets to travel in an approved soft-case carrier placed under the assigned window seat. Participating pets also receive a LIFT Paw Pass.
LIFT’s ticketing code/designator is GE/698. The airline is available in the A, S, V and G GDS systems. Current forms of payment are cash, with credit card acceptance expected in the future. Commission is 0%.
